Just rippy, rolly and punch it

Hi Everyone,                       Welcome to day eight of our voyage. On a normal day I would be writing a full days log explaining what we have experienced, observed and achieved but given it is now Command Day I have handed this responsibility over to Youth Crew Captain Hayden and his loyal Crew who I am sure will do an amazing job of telling you about their adventures .Until tomorrow, take care. Yours AyeCaptain Gav Ahoy! Young Endeavour youth Captain Hayden Smith here! This morning we awoke at 0630 at anchor off the beautiful Kangaroo Island and by 0700 the youth crew chefs alongside Zac had cooked us an amazing breakfast. We were at our brief on today’s plan by 0800 and we then went ashore to Kangaroo Island. After spending about 1 and a half hours ashore we returned to the ship, we weighed anchor and headed around the corner (about 2 hours sail) to American River  where we anchored and set up the rope swing, our Sailmaster Adam strutted his stuff in some pretty questionable budgie smugglers. After the swim Captain Gav handed over the Telescope of challenge to our new Captain. Once under the command of the Youthies we then weighed anchor again and took off on a course to the North East heading out of Kangaroo Island and heading to Adelaide. On our way we completed one tack to starboard followed by a wear to starboard to get us back on track.Of course, none of this could have been achieved without the help of my newly elected leadership team Sail master: Bailey, Watch officer: Zara and Navigator: Hugh.Other newly elected key roles are the three Watch Leaders, Eliza taking control of the new Blue Watch, Zac assuming command of the new Red Watch and finally Truman the new White Watch. They are settling well into their roles and will grow in confidence and understanding of their new watches with patience and time (likely over the 4h night watch chats). We have also elected Samantha, Charlene and Alex as our chefs and they have not disappointed! Cooking up a storm and producing some delicious meals such as a chicken stir-fry.That’s all from me for now, I’ll keep you posted with the results of command day tomorrow.Catch yaHaydenJust rippy, rolly and punch it
