Cid Harbour, Whitsunday Island
Ahoy shipmates,Welcome all.  They Youth Crew of Voyage 14/18 joined Young Endeavour at Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, with a small group of family and friends in attendance. After quick tours, the official welcome and introductions, our guests disembarked as we prepared to cast off. Before I go any further…the staff crew for this trip are:Captain         Kenny Sail Master         GuvNavigator         HarryWatch Officer         IvankaWhite Watch Leader      AdamRed Watch Leader      JamesBlue Watch Leader      MorganChef            MarcusEngineer         MarkAfter clearing the Marina and recovering our sea boat, we made the two hour transit to Cid Harbour on the western side of Whitsunday Island. Enroute the Youth Crew conducted ice breakers and tours of the ship with their watch leaders, rotating through the galley for a delicious evening meal from Chef Marcus. Once at anchor we conducted briefs from Sail Master Guv, Engineer Mark, and myself covering some of the do’s and don’ts for the voyage, as well as hopefully providing some inspiration…stressing the importance of taking the opportunities presented to them  over the next 10 days. It was then into the Safety Aloft brief and first night climbs to the top gallant yard (top of the foremast). As I write the final watch (White Watch) is making their way down from aloft. Once on deck everyone will be hitting the hay for a good night’s sleep before a very busy day two. That’s it for now…until tomorrowFair winds,Captain Kenny

Thank you Tarvi, Kaeden and Matt for your narrative of today's events. Intentions are to remain at anchor in Hunters Bay, just off HMAS Penguin, home of the RAN Diving School, a place close to my heart, having spent many a day there under training as a young Officer! The plan is to weigh anchor and proceed to HMAS Waterhen, in Waverton, to pick up our Community Day Sailors from the Windgap Foundation and take them for a sail around the harbour for 3 hours. The Youth Crew will help us host our visitors and give them an experience of Young Endeavour. We will drop them back to Waverton and then proceed to anchor in the harbour where we will have a good view of the Bridge and the Opera House for the Youth Crew's last night onboard. Until tomorrow. Yours Aye, Captain Mike
